A letter from the President
December 1, 2008
I think we can all agree that 2008 was a challenging year for businesses in Somers Point
and throughout the country. We all share in the hope that our new President and Congress will take the necessary steps to stimulate our economy and get us back on track. The responsibility also rests with all of us to be proactive in our efforts in maintaining the vitality of our own businesses and in making Somers Point an attractive place for new and existing enterprises. Since 1983, the SPBA has represented the special interests of local businesses. Over the past years, we have also supported local projects and activities such as the Summer Beach Concerts, Foundation for Education, Somers Point Jazz Society, Shore Memorial Hospital Stainton Society, Somers Point Historical Society, Rotary Club and local veteran’s organizations. The speakers for our monthly breakfast meetings come from all areas of commerce, education, government and community organizations. These meetings and seasonal mixers offer a great opportunity to meet and network with fellow business people. Our website will continue to offer information about our business members to potential clientele who are planning a visit to Somers Point.
If you haven’t yet, please return the 2009 membership application and invoice so we can include your business in all of the exciting plans that we have for the upcoming year. We look forward to seeing you at our next meeting or function. We wish you and your family a happy and healthy holiday season and a fulfilling and lucrative 2009.
Regards,
Rob Cozen, President
